Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has been reporting for over 45 years focused on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry has covered wars across the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in Agana) was an American TV anchor, reporter as well as a journalist. She was most famous as a correspondent on The Today Show, which was a morning newscast produced by the National Broadcasting Co. Curry was renowned for her reporting on human rights issues in war-stricken countries as well as on natural catastrophes. Curry is the daughter of an U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. Her father was with the mother of her in Japan when he was a stationed there following World War II. Due to her father's service as a military officer, they moved a lot. They eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. Curry graduated in 1978, with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in the University of Oregon. As a child she had the privilege of being exposed to diverse cultures. The compassion she displays towards the world is likely due to her experience. After four years, she was hired as reporter for KCBS TV in Los Angeles. During the six years she worked for KCBS She was honored with 2 Emmy Awards.
